Small team, big intent.
Syli is a non-profit Community Interest Company (CIC). By joining us you become part of a passionate, energetic team committed to achieving Syli's social objectives, and to the values that underpin all the work we do.
We're friendly and approachable, and we take pride in the work across every part of the organisation as we collaborate to bring about real and meaningful change. Our culture is one of togetherness: celebrating achievements together as well as supporting each other through challenges.
Together, we're able to make a difference that we simply couldn't achieve alone.
Our way of working
Integrity
Protecting and stewarding the climate media ecosystem: its independence, its integrity, its long-term resilience, and the people we work with to drive this change.
Transformation
We embrace pioneering hybrid structures and next-generation frameworks that shift thinking from the inside out, toward measurable systemic impact outcomes.
Collaboration
We cultivate a radically collaborative global network that unites to ensure the collective longevity of a climate-positive media ecosystem.
Inclusivity
Centering voices and partners from the Global South, emerging economies where the climate story is most lived with developed representation for a rebalance of power.
Entrepreneurship, by design.
We're friendly and approachable. We take pride in what we do across all aspects of the organisation as we work together to bring about real and meaningful change.
Our culture is one of togetherness. Celebrating achievements together, supporting each other through challenges. Wellbeing habits are part of the working day; environmental action is part of how we work; and Fika is a weekly opportunity to grab a cuppa and hang out online, just because.
The day-to-day, in practice.
Working hours
Most Syli roles, whether full or part time, are based around UK working hours. We're happy to discuss what flexibility looks like for you.
Remote-first
We are a remote-first company. Some roles require occasional in-person working, primarily in the London area of the UK.
Wellbeing
Good physical and mental health matter. We support and encourage the team to make wellbeing habits part of the working day, not the after-hours.
Fika
A weekly opportunity to grab a cuppa and hang out online, to socialise with colleagues without an agenda or a deck.
Environmental action
Being climate-friendly is at the heart of everything we do. The way we work, who we work with, and the choices we make about suppliers and resources.
Professional development
As we transform the media ecosystem, it is essential we grow personally and keep learning as a team. Development time is built into the rhythm.
Tech equipment
Laptop provided so you can do your job, without the friction of bringing your own kit or expensing your hardware.
Pension
Ethical fund options available after successful completion of probation. Currently available to UK employees.
Annual leave
Time to switch off matters. UK employees receive 28 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, with encouragement to actually use them.
A fair rate, everywhere.
For international applicants, we use a location multiplier tool to help us work out a fair rate, taking into account factors such as the local job market, related experience and parity across our team.
The goal is internal equity across the team and external fairness against the market the role is based in. We'll always talk through how the multiplier was applied when we make an offer.
An open door, by default.
We are an equal opportunities employer, and we welcome applications from all suitably qualified people.
If you're unable to apply via the online application portal, or require any amendments that will assure a fair process, please get in touch. We want the steps to a role at Syli to be as accessible as the role itself.
Get in touch→Start a conversation, before there's a role.
We'd rather know who you are early. Tell us about the work you do and what you'd want to build here, and we'll keep it in mind as the team grows.
